How to report able bodied person in spot with sticker
Have seen many able-bodied people with a sticker park in handicap spot. Please add capability to report these people to local authorities.

Such an ignorant post. Are you a Medical Doctor? Do we owe you a “visible” disability to satisfy your entitlement? I have issues, the Doctor and DMV agreed , I got a placard ….move on with your life, is a luxury many of us dont have even if we look “able bodied”.

As someone with invisible disabilities who has had a plackard since I was 25 I am disappointed that so many people think "guilty till proven innocent" of THE HANDICAP is ok. I know people use them illegally but to say I should get tickets and have to take time energy and money to go "prove my innocence" ... news flash...that's a big effort and inconvenience for handicap people.

If you have "hidden" issues, that can be addressed by law enforcement or the courts, just like when someone forgets to display their placard. Also, obesity should not qualify for a placard...you need the exercise.

Yes! Not appropriate 👎. I have a placard and may look ‘able bodied’ but people can’t see my my sciatica that I get Epidural’s for that can keep from even walking at all, degenerating discs, scoliosis, while some days I can walk but after just a few minutes I’m in excruciating pain but no one can ‘see this’. I can’t believe people actually walk by and mumble ‘don’t look handicap to me’. Or, stare & give me a look up and down as to size me up or something as to if I should qualify as disabled?? Same with my bf who was thrown out of her car on the freeway, has a fused back now among many other things. But, we’re both relatively young & keep ourselves fit which makes us look even more ‘less disabled’🙄 to people I guess lol. So, disability is probably an area you want to err on the side of just ‘don’t go there’ lol

My problem is when it is obvious someone is using a someone else’s handicapped placard. I had 4 teenage boys park in a spot at Walmart and they were using mom’s placard. They told me they weren’t disabled and mom told them they could use it. I know this is a slippery slope but it’s frustrating because I have seen this happen multiple times. When someone parks in the spot and RUNS in the store, they are not deserving of the placard!!

My dad had heart problems and need handicap parking. he looked abled bodied. However, I think the same way. so I think you should be able to site them and prove that they have proof that they are the rightful owner of the placard. A guy from my old job was using someone else placard and I turned him in to human resources. So I think turning someone in that jumps out of their car and runs in to a store warrants suspicions

Please change your mindset as many disabled people may look “able bodied” but there is a reason they have been issued that placard. A Dr has to actually fill out a form saying there is a NEED for it so it’s not just someone going to the dmv and getting one because they want one.

I'm my brother's care provider and, if needed, will park in the disability spots when I plan to drive him places. He has a hard time walking long distances and isn't aware enough of dangerous traffic. He doesn't know to stop walking when cars are coming. While a lot of people do abuse spots, please keep in mind that you may not have the full picture all the time!

Educate yourself, because this is super ignorant.
Many disabled people look able bodied. I'm only 29 years old and look "healthy".
You cannot see my: ileostomy bag, chronic fevers, autoimmune disease, joint pain, and muscle weakness.
Some days I can walk okay, some days I need my cane, and some days I need a wheelchair. Regardless, my activity overall is restricted by my illness and it sucks. My doctor approved my placard no questions asked.
So no, this does NOT need to be added.

Kathy,
Exactly. Thanks. -

Many people look able bit are not. It is not your right to decide this. A dr deems them in need so they are

While we recognize that there is a level of abuse by those who don't need it, many disabilities are hidden, or non apparent. It is not possible nor is it appropriate for a private citizen to make that judgement. Only a uniformed officer can approach an individual and require them to show that a plate, placard or sticker they are using belongs to them. With Parking Mobility you can report a vehicle parked illegally, not an individual.
