One can not alter the meta data embedded in a photo. Therefore, it should not be of issue to import images off your camera roll.

Jennifer,
The difference is that photos that are not secured are not admissible in court. If you take a photo with your phone (or any other device) and then upload it to our servers, that photo cannot be verified as secured and violates the chain of evidence and the case could not be prosecuted. Accepting even one unsecured photo in our system makes the entire system null in the eyes of a court. This would in no way change the scenario you described. If you feel a confrontation is likely, we never suggest reporting.

100% agree - I get the reasons below but I don’t understand why we can’t take the photo and then upload later. What difference does it make? For example, there was a belligerent lady parked in a spot the other day who admitted she didn’t need it, so I’d never have been able to walk up to her car to eat these pics. She never left her car... what should I do in these cases. I had to take a pic of her car & plate from inside Starbucks.

Steve,
As previously stated, all photos and reports must be taken within the Parking Mobility App. We are unable to accept photo uploads of pictures not taken within the App. When taking the photos in the App we are also collecting all data necessary for a report. We also ensure photos cannot be altered, thus preserving the chain of evidence, a requirement of our law enforcement and judicial partners. Without this security measure, the evidence collected would not be admissible in court. Also, if the photos we collected resided on your phone at any point and not originally on our servers, a defense attorney could subpoena your device and hold it for inspection in the event of a trial. Since the only photos we accept reside on our servers, they can subpoena them…we have many. Further, we discourage anyone from reporting while they are operating a vehicle. -

the necessity of finding and opening an application on my phone provides too many chances of a driving error or just plain obstructing traffic. make it possible to upload photos from the photo gallery.
